Hi, we’re Samson and Jessica – the pun-loving Founders of SoPuns.com!
We started this website as a place to share our passion for laughs during our free time. As professional comedy writers for over 15 years, we were itching for an outlet to create jokes, puns, memes and other goofy content just for the fun of it.
I’m Samson, and I’ve written for late-night TV shows and published books of one-liners. Comedy is my calling, and I love crafting pithy puns and short jokes. Jessica has a degree in English literature along with comedy writing experience. She lends an analytical eye to developing quizzky trivia and science-inspired humor.
Together, we use our decades of combined experience to brainstorm and workshop fresh, original comedy content. We rigorously edit and fact check every piece to hit that sweet spot of humor – clever but not offensive. Our goal is to spread joy through the lost art of the perfectly-timed pun or delightfully corny joke.
When we’re not writing comedy professionally, you can find us giggling away as we test new material on each other and unsuspecting friends. We started SoPuns hoping to find a community of fellow humor lovers who get as big a kick out of our punny creations as we do.

Our Editorial Process
Creating great comedy content takes work – that’s why we have an extensive editorial process at SoPuns.
First, we brainstorm joke premises and humor ideas collaboratively. We build off each other, combining Samson’s short-form comedy chops with Jessicas’s analytical approach. Our decades of shared experience writing professionally funny content gives us a strong starting point.
Next, the fact checking happens. We verify any facts or references used in longer-form jokes and trivia. Accuracy is key – getting the details right makes humor hit just right.
After that, the draft goes through multiple rounds of editing and review. We workshop punchlines to find the ones that land best. We ensure vocabulary and tone are tailored for our target audience. We keep simplifying until only the funniest bits remain.
